Early Years Foundation

Thank you for considering Bodsham Church of England Primary School for your child.  You are making an important decision and we wish to do all we can to support you in this process.

During the current period of national lockdown we are unable to host tours of the school. We are offering prospective parents individual Zoom appointments with a member of our Senior Leadership Team so that we are able to give you a real insight into our unique and happy school.

Parents can also choose to sign up for a live video presentation with our headteacher, Mr Newton, on the following dates:

Friday 16th October at 2pm

Thursday 19th November at 2pm

Thursday 10th December at 2pm

Please provide your email address to the office to be added to one of these presentations.

You can apply for a place at our school via the KCC website www.kent.gov.uk/ola between November 2020 and 15th January 2021

If you are not offered a place at your preferred school you can appeal between 20 April and 17 May 2021 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 16 July 2021.  For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.  For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.

Please refer to the admissions section of our website for full details.

During the summer term we have a programme of transition events to support a smooth and enjoyable start to school life:

You and your child will also be invited in to join us for a story time session where we will explore our learning environment and share some books together.

You are most welcome to join us for Sports Day and our Summer Fete. You can find these dates in the diary section of the website.

This is held once your child has started school to provide you with further information on how we learn at school. It will also give you an opportunity to ask questions and find out about how you can support your child at home with their learning.

We have an active PFA who welcome new members and ideas. If you would like more information, please contact the school office who can direct you on how to join.

We enjoy a close partnership with parents and have an open door policy if you should wish to speak to us at any time.  You will be kept updated throughout your child’s time in Early Years via parents’ evenings, opportunities to come and share Learning Journals and Stay and Play Sessions. We also use the online learning journal ‘Tapestry’ which means that you will have regular updates on what your child has been up to at school. For further information regarding Tapestry please click here.

We are very proud of our beautiful school and its wonderful children. We are lucky to have smaller than average class sizes, a strong Christian ethos and supportive and welcoming parents.
