What a wonderful day everyone had on Friday 7th June being part of the Diocese Day of Pilgrimage and Prayer.
Bodsham children met at the Village Hall in the morning where they were part of a worship with Rev. Lorraine. They prepared for pilgrimage during the session by thinking of any worries they had, they wrote these on a post-it note and placed them onto large praying hands, they were then ready for their pilgrimage.
Their pilgrimage was a beautiful one mile walk through the countryside back to school. Each child had with them a hand-decorated pilgrimage stone which they carefully placed in a location of their choice along the way.
The rain just about held off until they were back in school at lunchtime (they were very glad about that!) After lunch the whole school rotated through three prayer station arts and crafts activities which Rev. Lorraine had prepared. Children made prayer boxes, framed crosses and prayer beads.
The day ended with a whole school prayer session in the hall.
We had the most wonderful day of pilgrimage and prayer. The children were thoughtful and reflective and thoroughly enjoyed all the day’s activities. Thank you so much to Rev. Lorraine and her daughter Mrs King who were with the school for the whole day and helped make the day so special.
