London Mini Marathon - 26th April

TCS London Mini Marathon: Saturday 26th April 2025

As you will have seen, we have been fortunate enough to secure spaces for this year’s TCS London Mini Marathon on Saturday, April 26th. Last year’s event proved to be a real hit for Bodsham’s pupils, raising an impressive £3,370, which paid for our shiny new playground markings. We’d love to smash that amount, especially as we have 15 more running spaces this year!

The TCS London Marathon follows the exact finish route of the famous London Marathon. Runners start in Horse Guards Parade, run past Buckingham Palace, and cross the finish line on The Mall. Each runner receives a medal with TCS gifting Bodsham School £10 for every runner who passes the finishing line.

This year we have secured a total of 40 places. 25 for the one-mile route and another 15 places for a 2.6 km route designed for children in Year 4 and above. This well-organised event has allocated running slots throughout the day, which we will not know until closer to the time with the first slot at 9 am so please bear this in mind should your child wish to participate as you might need to be up in London bright and early! Like last year, we should also have space for 10 parent runners to support our Bodsham runners on the route so please indicate if you would like to be one.

This year we are raising funds for some much-needed computers for the Computing suite that are outdated and soon will no longer be compatible with the latest Microsoft package. We’ve set up a joint sponsorship page through Parent Kind, a platform specifically for schools that is similar to Just Giving but with lower commission fees meaning we’ll raise even more money for our cause, for pupils to raise funds through.

Those interested in taking part must be able to travel to London with an adult/s on Saturday 26th April.

Please contact the office to add your child's name to the list, stating whether they would like to run in the 1 mile or 2.6k race, by 14th March. If the event is oversubscribed and a pupil misses out on this occasion, we hope to secure more places next year!
