Kent Education Awards News

A huge congratulations to Roz Skinner who was awarded Kent Primary Teacher of the Year 2026 for the Folkestone & Hythe District on Friday evening at a special awards ceremony celebrating inspirational educators from across the county.

Miss Skinner, our Year 3 and 4 teacher, whose passion for creating an emotionally safe environment in which children can flourish has been recognised for a second consecutive year - last year she and her team were the overall winners in the Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards.

This year’s accolade continues to acknowledge the fantastic work that takes place each day to ensure children come to school feeling less anxious, ready to learn, and supported within an environment where they are accepted for who they are.

Through adaptive approaches and a nurturing ethos, Miss Skinner consistently ensures that every child feels valued, understood, and supported both emotionally and academically.

Having been nominated by numerous parents, this recognition is a true testament to her dedication and commitment. Out of all the nominations for educators across Kent, we are delighted that Miss Skinner was selected for this special honour. We are incredibly proud of the positive impact she continues to make within our school community.

Well done Miss Skinner - you deserve it!
