The Federation of Bodsham CEP School and Saltwood CEP School Friday,
18th May 2012 Dear
Parents Very
well done to our Year 6 children who shown resilience this week in the way
that they have tackled the SATs. They
have worked incredibly hard and we could not have asked any more of them. They were all congratulated this morning by
Mrs Crook when they were all in Gold Book.
Well done Year 6! Parking
around the school Please
could I remind you, once again, about the importance of parking thoughtfully
around the school.
Please park on the concrete area in front of the barn, filling from
the back and allowing access to the houses by the barn. Please be very careful about dropping off
children at the school gate; not stopping in the road to let children jump
out of the car and run in to school.
Children should be supervised on to the school premises. Please allow enough time at the start of
the day to enable you to park and then escort your child through the
gate. Thank you! I
have written to Kent Highways this week to ask them to look at the problem
for us too. Owls
cake sale £68.38
was raised from the Owls cake sale last Friday. Well done! Year
5 parents – Bowles trip The
time for the Bowles trip is fast approaching!
Please could parents pay the next installment
of £115 by 11th June. Thank you! Sainsbury
vouchers Thank
you to everyone for the large number of Sainsbury vouchers that have been
sent in to school. We shall be sending
our vouchers off next week ordering many great items for playtime. Please send to school any that you still
have at home. Thank you! Ascension
Day activities We
are looking forward to our Ascension Day activities next Thursday in
particular having a chance to enjoy the local environment and outdoor
learning. Please ensure you send in
the completed consent forms on Monday 21st. Fairtrade Please
may we remind you that the cost of Fairtrade
goods are 35p and 65p. It would
be greatly appreciated if your child could bring in the exact money when
purchasing from the stall. Charivari
Festival Saturday 16th June Please
may we remind Owls parents that if you would like your child to participate,
please could we have the permission slips back by Wednesday 23rd May. Many thanks. Ham

first event is this Saturday 19th May from 11am - 2:30pm. We are having a
party in the woods with treasure hunts (can you find the Gruffalo?),
kid's craft activities, traditional woodland crafts (willow weaving, charcoal
burning), refreshments, guided walks, and more! It's
a FREE fun family event. Owls

anyone can help with this event please sign up. A sign up sheet will be in the playground at drop off and
pick up all next week. We
will need: 1) helpers on the day – setting up, serving lunches and teas,
washing up and clear up - working in 2
hour shifts from 11 to 4:30ish. (this is flexible) 2)
People baking cakes, making desserts, quiches, potato salad, coleslaw and
pickles/chutneys all will be very gratefully received. We
will collect from home if you’re not going yourself just let Sam, Lesley or
Louisa know. This
is a lovely day for all involved and with 100% of profit going to the school,
due to Barclays generous fund-matching, it’s a great fundraising opportunity.
