Welcome to Bodsham Church of England Primary School

Welcome to Bodsham School. Set in a beautiful rural location Bodsham School offers all our children an outstanding education. Our children achieve to a very high standard with the school having featured near the top of Key Stage 2 league tables in recent years. However, there is so much more to commend our school to you.

It has been summed up in our recent “Outstanding” Section 48 Church School inspection as being a “joyful place to be, with lots of smiles.”

Our Christian values transcend all our relationships and every aspect of our school life so that children develop as rounded individuals. Our beautiful location fosters a unique learning environment for our children who enjoy an active and outdoor experience.  Our welly rack is a key part of the school playground furniture as children enjoy the outdoor learning environment at all times of the year and in all weathers.

All ages play together well creating a family feel to our school.  We hope that our website will give you a little flavour of our lovely school prior to visiting us in person.

The school federated with Saltwood in November 2009.  Saltwood also gained an outstanding grade in Ofsted in 2007 and an outstanding grade in its church school inspection in 2012.  This partnership has strengthened both schools within the federation providing strong professional support for teaching staff ensuring that high academic standards are maintained and sustained in each school.

The partnership has also widened opportunities for our children who now attend a residential trip in Year 6 with Saltwood children, for example.

The overall aims of the Federation are to:

Be a happy school – a school to which the children will enjoy coming.

Affirm God’s love for every individual.

Help children to live together in a community, encouraging care for others before themselves and to become responsible, independent people.

Be a safe place in which mistakes can be made, learned from and forgiven.

Release the potential of every individual to enable them to reach the highest level of achievement of which they are capable and equip them for life.

To give every child the experience of success and a sense of personal value.

To broaden pupils’ horizons; to help develop lively, enquiring minds, the ability to question and argue rationally, to work with imagination and a sense of purpose.
